My top 3 music videos

My favourite music video is Lady GaGa Born This Way because it is unique and different to other music videos as it is set out as a short story. It is also longer than the average music video as it is more than 7 minutes long. Also I think the dark lighting relates to the lyrics and the topic she is singing about which is influential to many people who listen to the song and watch the music video.




I like this music video because i like the master shots throughout and the natural high key lighting. I also like the establishing shot at the start and think it sets the scene very well.




I like this music video because it has a wide range of shots and angles which I find very interesting.

- Friske who views them as being a new form of television (classic postmodern texts)

- Lewis who only views them as being ‘shopping mall culture’
- and Marcus who views them as semiotic pornography (a watered down version of pornography which is accompanied by music – particularly in the case of R&B and Pop videos which often feature women in small amounts of clothing)
